Provides free assistance during disasters, which includes emergency evacuation center equipped with cots and blankets, as well as food and Health and Mental Health services. Also offers temporary housing to victims of house fires. In addition, provides post-disaster relief to victims, specific to the type of disastrous occurrence. Responders assist in local, regional and national disasters.

Coordinates evacuation of pets, provides safe shelters, and establishes a system to track and reunite pets with their owners in the event of a disaster. Provides resources and advice to pet owners, animal-related businesses and non-profits, local communities, and state agencies to strengthen and support Franklin County's capacity to respond to animal needs in the event of a disaster. Guardian Angel Disaster Animal Response Team (GADART) provides support and training for team members and provides guidance to local emergency managers on including the communities' pet population in local response plans. Pet owners are encouraged to communicate with their local emergency manager via the Town Clerk and regional emergency planning group for guidance on local response plans.
Provides disaster assistance website and Disaster Assistance Helpline that allows visitors to get information about location of disasters, how to meet their immediate needs, as well as to apply for and check the status of assistance applications.

Serves all of Vermont with leadership, coordination, and support during the four phases of emergency management: mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery. Offers training and education conferences, a forum for discussion and information exchange, and access to policy research. Also encourages collaboration and mutual assistance networks, advocates for legislative initiatives and other measures that enhance emergency planning and effectiveness, and provides leadership to ensure that there is an integrated approach to the management of emergency programs and activities.

This program makes it easier to refill prescriptions if individuals have to leave their homes after a disaster. The website does not store or retain confidential information entered when filling out the card.
