Advocates help identify and access community services and support networks, and advocate on behalf of and with individuals regarding their expressed interests and preferences. The program also includes community outreach, training, public awareness, and system advocacy initiatives.

Providers and peer supports are found locally, customarily within 30 miles of residence whenever possible. While serving, the Coast Guard community is supported by the Department of Homeland Security for their EAP needs.
