Makes grants to individuals and organizations in Addison County for a variety of needs. All requests are reviewed and considered. Grant requests received by the last Tuesday of the month will be considered for grants made on the first Tuesday of the following month. Recipients will receive notification whether or not their request has been granted.

Offers financial assistance for expenses such as medications, medical equipment and supplies, transportation, private care or respite care, nutritional support, clothing, and prostheses. Maximum financial support is typically $500 per calendar year. Patients can reapply yearly for grant. The committee typically meets the first week of each month and the review process may take up to 30 days.

Helps residents in need of one-time emergency financial assistance. Individuals may apply for assistance with paying a specific bill or for assistance with covering unanticipated costs of a specific service, especially a health-related service. Tupper Fund Advocate will assist individuals with writing descriptions of reasons for emergency financial assistance requests.

Provides seasonal, one-time emergency financial assistance on a case-by-case determination. Availability of assistance is dependent upon a community-driven donation fund that is limited. Financial assistance decisions and fund distributions are made on Tuesday and Friday mornings. Agency will assist clients with finding alternative emergency financial assistance outside of the funding months.

Provides grants in the areas of the arts, education, health, social services, women’s issues, and the environment.
Offers a small Emergency Assistance Fund.
Provides information and referral services for at-home caregivers. Provides financial assistance for short term in-home caregiving services to keep community members safe in their homes as they recover from life events requiring additional assistance. Also provides respite grants for home caregivers. Respite grants are based on financial need.
Provides a variety of services to support the health and well-being of neighbors on a temporary basis. Services may include transportation, friendly visiting, certificates and forms assistance, yard work, assistance with errands, homemaker assistance, and minor home repairs and maintenance. Also provides one-time emergency financial assistance to individuals facing a short-term crisis as well as referrals to other agencies for more long term needs. Barnard Helping Hands in partnership with Barnard General Store maintains a food collection box to support Woodstock Community Food Shelf. They also work closely with the Hub in Woodstock, the Ottauquechee Health Foundation and the Woodstock Thomspon Senior Center.

Provides limited emergency funds for a variety of needs, after all other available community resources have been exhausted. All payments are one-time only. Mortgage payments are not covered. The Caroline Fund pays the money directly to the service provider. No cash is given directly to applicants. When calling, leave message with name and address to request an application. Applicants must indicate what other resources they have used and/or applied for.

Provides emergency financial assistance, including payment of outstanding utility bills or overdue rent on a one-time basis, airfare to the UK for emergencies or permanent resettlement, car repairs if needed for work, and other needs on a case-by-case basis. Typical requests NOT funded are student scholarships, loans of any nature, legal fees, and bail fees.
Provides limited financial support on a case-by-case basis for eligible individuals and their families affected by a natural disaster or catastrophic life event. Essential costs and expenses covered include groceries, respite/childcare, utilities, safety, and transportation. Also offers information on other sources of financial assistance.

Provides grants for services such as dentures, hearing aids, heating fuel and utility bill payments. This is NOT an emergency program as the application process takes time. A Letter to Trustee from social service agency is required. Request must have name, address, age, marital status, annual income, and financial condition of the woman in need; nature of the need; and name of provider of the service requested. Grant Range: $300 to $2,500
