The libraries in turn create story times focused on early literacy skills and readiness for school. Participating libraries bring early literacy experiences to children, parents and childcare providers. Provides the public with list of participating libraries. Provides a free book by mail every month. Audiobooks and printed Braille books are available upon request.

Provides professional development training for early care and education providers to learn about children’s language and early literacy development and fun, instructive, and engaging ways to share books with children. Participants receive free books suitable for use with newborns, toddlers and preschoolers. Programs are conducted statewide by experienced early childhood professionals. Trainings are four hours (two sessions of 2 hours each). Trainings may be on hold due to COVID.

Offers online resources for parents to help their children develop literacy skills and good reading habits.
