Operates a helpline providing advocacy for problems involving health care and health insurance. Case types include access to health care, billing, eligibility, and insurance coverage issues. The Office of the Health Care Advocate has a tax attorney on staff to assist individuals with tax filing questions and issues, but does NOT provide assistance with actual filing of returns. This program also recommends needed health care policy changes to the Legislature and administrative agencies.

Provides an online refund-tracking tool allowing taxpayers who have filed a federal tax return to check the status of their refund. Also provides a toll-free Refund Line. Offers a free smartphone app that allows checking for refund status, paying tax bills, and finding tax preparation assistance. Toll-Free Refund Line should only be used if: It has been 21 days or more since an electronic filing; More than six weeks since a paper return has been mailed; or The "My Refund" tool says to contact IRS.
