NEW CONNECTIONS | NORTHWESTERN COUNSELING AND SUPPORT SERVICES

Provides 24-hour in-person crisis intervention and support for families with children experiencing a mental health or emotional crisis, or who have run away or are at risk of running away. Also provides de-escalation support, planning for stability, family mediation, and emergency respite care. The Children's Crisis Manager works closely with the crisis team and Family Assessment Program to coordinate seamless care from crisis to ongoing supports.

NORTHWESTERN COUNSELING AND SUPPORT SERVICES

Northwestern Counseling and Support Services (NCSS) is the designated community mental health agency for Franklin and Grand Isle Counties under contract with Vermont Department of Mental Health to provide acute and long-term behavioral health care services to people with a wide range of emotional, behavioral and other mental health problems, substance abuse and/or developmental challenges. NCSS provides emergency and crisis intervention services for adults, children, adolescents and their families, as well as substance abuse treatment services and also operates a parent child center.
