VERMONT MATCHED SAVINGS | BROC COMMUNITY ACTION

Offers a matched savings program designed to help low-income families and individuals save for and acquire a significant asset. A Vermont Matched Savings account is a 2-year program in which participants start a savings account of up to $500 per year. The program will give $1.00 for each dollar saved, capped at $1,000. These savings can be used for buying a home, repairing a home (home cosmetics not included), purchasing or repairing an automobile that is used for work-related transportation, start up or expansion of a small business, pursuing a post-secondary education or career/job training program, and purchasing tools of the trade, i.e. carpentry or mechanic tools. Must save for a minimum of one year before savings are matched. Program savings do not count as assets when applying for Reach Up and 3SquaresVT.
