EARLY CHILDHOOD SPECIAL EDUCATION SERVICES | VERMONT AGENCY OF EDUCATION
Coordinates statewide early childhood special education services that are designed to evaluate and provide intervention to children with special needs within local communities. Services include developmental screenings, comprehensive evaluations, and specialized instruction. Comprehensive evaluations are available when there is a concern about developmental delay or special need. For specialized instruction children must meet program guidelines for developmental delay or risk factor.

Services are provided by local school districts and early childhood service providers and this is where individuals with questions/concerns should begin with inquiries. Contact local school district for information about screenings and consultations. Telephone Agency of Education for additional information if all questions are not answered by community providers. The Vermont Department of Education provides an automated Special Education Technical Assistance Line.
