Provides confidential support services that include counseling and drug treatment options information throughout the recovery process, from active use to sustained recovery, including during periods of relapse.Offers low barrier buprenorphine program with same day access to life saving medication. Provides HIV, Hepatitis A/B, and hepatitis C testing and vaccinations, access to safer injection supplies, safe disposal of used supplies, fentanyl test strips, drug treatment options, and counseling. Distributes overdose rescue kits that contain naloxone to protect people from the potentially deadly effects of the drugs they use. Offers a Mobile Needle Exchange van with other services in Chittenden and Franklin Counties. Also provides needle pick-up service and needle handling safety information. Offers AIDS/HIV/STD prevention supplies. Individuals from anywhere will be served. The program is designed to reduce the incidence of drug-related harm, including HIV transmission, Hepatitis C transmission, and drug overdose, by supporting people in any stage of recovery.

Howard Center is is the designated agency for Chittenden County. It provides acute and long-term behavioral health care services to people with a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and other mental health issues, substance use disorders, and/or developmental challenges. Services include emergency and crisis intervention services for adults, children, adolescents, and their families; substance use disorder treatment services in Chittenden, Franklin, and Grand Isle Counties; alternative education programs; and community-based developmental services.
