COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENTAL SERVICES | HOWARD CENTER

Provides comprehensive services to individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, and other pervasive developmental disorders. Individuals are assigned professional service coordinators who are responsible for clients' Individualized Support Agreements, and for assisting them in achieving success in the community. Services include personal support and case management; specialized residential programs; psychiatric and medical care; vocational and skill acquisition training; family support services; and support services to individuals in nursing homes. Provides a spectrum of supported living arrangements to meet the needs of each person. Clinical services for individuals include provision of a psychiatrist to provide evaluation, medication checks, and after-hours consultation on medication issues. Also provides care coordination services. Flexible Family Funding is a secondary service that provides state funds to support individuals with developmental disabilities and their families with support services such as respite care to enhance their ability to live together.

HOWARD CENTER

Howard Center is is the designated agency for Chittenden County. It provides acute and long-term behavioral health care services to people with a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and other mental health issues, substance use disorders, and/or developmental challenges. Services include emergency and crisis intervention services for adults, children, adolescents, and their families; substance use disorder treatment services in Chittenden, Franklin, and Grand Isle Counties; alternative education programs; and community-based developmental services.
