VERMONT COMMUNICATION SUPPORT PROJECT | DISABILITY RIGHTS VERMONT

Provides individuals who qualify with legal interpretation and "translation" support for court proceedings, including divorce, custody, child support, relief from abuse, eviction, small claims, probate/guardianship, Children in Need of Supervision (CHINS), and Termination of Parental Rights (TPR). Also provides interpretation and explanation for Vermont administrative proceedings, such as 3SquaresVT or Medicaid appeals. Program does not perform any type of advocacy, does not provide legal advice, and does not provide services to defendants in Criminal Court proceedings.

DISABILITY RIGHTS VERMONT

Disability Rights Vermont is a statewide nonprofit organization that defends and advances the rights of individuals with disabilities and mental health issues. Services include confidential information and referral, advocacy, investigation of complaints of abuse, neglect and serious rights violations, legal representation when appropriate, assistance with Advance Directive for Health Care and Social Security, as well as voting information for individuals with disabilities. Disability Rights Vermont also provides assistance for individuals with disabilities who are victims of a crime.
