ADULT SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER SERVICES | HOWARD CENTER

Provides individualized, comprehensive, outpatient treatment services that address both the users' needs and the needs of those affected by the users' addictions. Groups are gender and trauma specific and are designed to build relapse prevention skills. As the Public Inebriate Program's designated agency, provides assessment and placement of individuals requiring medically monitored detoxification. The "public inebriate bed" provides an alternative for those detained by the police for public intoxication who would otherwise be placed in protective custody. Also provides the Impaired Driver Rehabilitation Program (formerly CRASH), the educational program for individuals convicted of driving under the influence. The Vermont Department of Health website provides complete details about eligibility and application to program. Offers both Intensive Program (10 hours in 2 days) and Non-intensive Program (10 hours over 4 weeks).

HOWARD CENTER

Howard Center is is the designated agency for Chittenden County. It provides acute and long-term behavioral health care services to people with a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and other mental health issues, substance use disorders, and/or developmental challenges. Services include emergency and crisis intervention services for adults, children, adolescents, and their families; substance use disorder treatment services in Chittenden, Franklin, and Grand Isle Counties; alternative education programs; and community-based developmental services.
