Offers instruction on skills that help people thrive in their daily lives: managing their emotions, taking on challenging tasks, developing friendships, working with others, improving self-regulation, making responsible decisions, and communicating more effectively. Specialists have years of experience on all aspects of speech, language, communication, and social cognition, including expertise with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) as well as treating and supporting people with medical and behavioral diagnoses, including autism, ADHD, developmental disabilities, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome and other genetic conditions, selective mutism, stroke, and traumatic brain injury.

The Stern Center for Language and Learning is a non-profit learning center that helps children, teens, and adults reach their academic, social, and professional goals by providing instruction and evaluations in support of all learners and apcializing in addressing the needs of those with dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, autism, Aspergers, and ADHD, with reading, writing, math, and social learning. The Stern Center also supports development of Pre-K-12 educators by designing and delivering courses and workshops, as well as entire systems-change initiatives for school districts in Vermont.
