STRENGTHENING FAMILIES DEMONSTRATION PROJECT | NORTHWESTERN COUNSELING AND SUPPORT SERVICES

Offers support to families experiencing substance use disorder, criminal issues, and risk factors associated with child abuse and neglect. Also provides regular home visits with families with a child under the age of three, and works closely and frequently with the Department for Children and Families (DCF) Family Services to ensure improved safety in the home and to decrease the number of children entering state custody. Services are typically provided in the client's home and in the community.

NORTHWESTERN COUNSELING AND SUPPORT SERVICES

Northwestern Counseling and Support Services (NCSS) is the designated community mental health agency for Franklin and Grand Isle Counties under contract with Vermont Department of Mental Health to provide acute and long-term behavioral health care services to people with a wide range of emotional, behavioral and other mental health problems, substance abuse and/or developmental challenges. NCSS provides emergency and crisis intervention services for adults, children, adolescents and their families, as well as substance abuse treatment services and also operates a parent child center.
