CRIME VICTIM SERVICES | DISABILITY RIGHTS VERMONT
Provides confidential advocacy and sometimes representation for individuals with disabilities who are victims of crime. Investigates allegations of abuse, neglect, financial exploitation, and domestic violence. Helps victims understand and work with the police and the courts, apply for a Relief From Abuse Order, and secure accommodations for a disability (such as an interpreter). Also offers counseling and referrals to other local agencies for additional assistance. Provides free publication, "A Guide for Crime Victims with Disabilities." Available for download from the website or by contacting agency.

Disability Rights Vermont is a statewide nonprofit organization that defends and advances the rights of individuals with disabilities and mental health issues. Services include confidential information and referral, advocacy, investigation of complaints of abuse, neglect and serious rights violations, legal representation when appropriate, assistance with Advance Directive for Health Care and Social Security, as well as voting information for individuals with disabilities. Disability Rights Vermont also provides assistance for individuals with disabilities who are victims of a crime.
