The Office of the Attorney General implements and enforces Vermont's laws. The Attorney General is the chief law enforcement officer in the state. She is charged with representing the state in all matters in which the state is a party or has an interest. The four core functions of the Office of the Attorney General are: to enforce the laws of Vermont, to defend the State of Vermont laws, policies and employees, to produce revenues, and to protect Vermont citizens.
