Individuals must first apply to other assistance programs available through Vermont Department for Children and Families Economic Services and/or Southeastern Vermont Community Action (SEVCA) and documentation of the application must be provided.

Black River Good Neighbor Services is a non-profit organization that assists low-to- moderate-income residents of Belmont, Calends, Ludlow, Mount Holly, Plymouth and Proctorsville with basic needs resources. Services include food shelf, provision of weekday community meals, USDA food commodity distribution and drop-off, thrift shop, used furniture store, emergency and disaster financial assistance, back-to-school supplies, memory cafe for people with dementia and their caregivers, and a holiday basket and gift program.
